About Us

Tracy Urban is the founder of StoryHeart Productions. A professional writer, educator and researcher, Tracy grew up sitting at the kitchen table listening to the people in her family tell stories:stories about growing up in the Depression, stories about surviving wars and illness,stories full of laughter and love and loss. She loved stories so much that she completed a BA in English and went on to teach literature and writing.

Tracy is fascinated by the way we create meaning through storytelling. Tracy’s graduate research focused on the oral histories of people who overcame hardship and tragedy to achieve their goals. Her research employed heuristic phenomenology, a method designed to capture the core of people’s identities, values and world views—in other words, to get to the heart of the story.

After completing her MA, Tracy created StoryHeart Productions, a service that helps people capture their life experience in print. As well, Tracy also enjoys the challenge of helping speakers, coaches, entrepreneurs and others get their message into print in the form of self-help and business books.

Tracy is a life-long writer who recently completed her first novel. She brings curiosity, creativity and a sense of humour to all her work. Insightful by nature, Tracy is skilled at being able to capture the voice and spirit of those she writes about.

Tracy lives in Vancouver, Canada but is available to help clients in any location.
